Sustainabilty Of Natural Rubber in SEK of PT Bukit Angkasa Makmur Bengkulu Indonesia
The quality of the smallholder rubber processing material (bokar) produced by rubber farmers/planters will determine the selling price. Good bokar quality will guarantee market demand in the long run as reflected by dry rubber content (KKK) and cleanliness level. Improving the quality of natural rubber at the rubber farmer level is mostly done by making rubber processing materials in the form of slabs and lum using coagulants which can damage the quality of rubber such as para vinegar (sulfuric acid), alum (aluminum sulfate) and TSP fertilizer ( Triple Super Phosphate). Besides causing damage to the quality of rubber, the use of coagulants produces a foul odor which is very disturbing to the people around the farmers who process their latex products. The type of coagulant has a major influence on the quality of the bokar, for this reason it is necessary to use the coagulant as recommended. Good garden latex handling needs to pay attention to the following three things, namely the requirements for quality bokar, the type of rubber processing material and storage.
Requirements to produce quality bokar. To produce quality bokar, several requirements need to be considered, including a) Bokar must be pure, meaning that non-rubber materials are not added such as talc, leaves, twigs, sand b) Using a recommended coagulant/coagulant in the form of ant acid or Deoreb c) Using a standard freezing container, can in the form of a plastic box that is brittle/crack resistant and not done in a hole in the ground, d) Bokar is stored in a warehouse protected from sunlight and not soaked.
Type of rubber processing material. Several types of bokar that can be produced by farmers include: a) Latex b) Lum bowl, garden latex that is allowed to freeze naturally in a bowl c) Lum bamboo, a latex freezing system using bamboo tubes with the addition of formic acid/ants or other freezing ingredients d) Sleb/lum Deorub (liquid smoke), latex is added to the Deorub freezer in a ratio of 10: 1. The Deorub freezer functions to freeze latex, maintain the plasticity value of rubber (Po and PRI), prevent it, and seal the bad smell in the clot and replace it with the smell of smoke which is distinctive and produces a brown color e) Thin sheet, made from folk rubber in the form of sheets. The steps for making thin sleb are as follows: 1) Put and arrange the bowl lum evenly in the freezing tub, 2) Add 1% ant acid solution to the garden latex, at a dose of 110 ml per liter of latex then stir 3) Pour the mixture into freezing tub that has been filled with lum bowl and 4) Leave for about 2 hours, then the lumps are removed and stored on a rack in a shady place. f) Blankets, lumps and thin sheets can be processed into blankets through milling with a mini creper machine, the milling process is carried out 46 times while spraying with water to remove dirt in the slab. Blankets with a thickness of about 0.6-1.0 cm with a KKK of around 65-75% g) Wind Sit, rubber sheets resulting from frozen latex which are ground and dried so that they have a KKK of 90-95%. The process of making air sit: receiving and filtering latex, diluting, freezing, curing, grinding, washing, draining and drying h) Smoked sit, the processing of smoked sit is the same as sit angin, the difference lies in the drying process, namely the smoked sit is smoked at a temperature which gradually between 45-60 degrees Celsius for 4 days. The advantage of RSS processing is that it can be directly exported or used as a raw material for the finished rubber goods industry, the product quality is uniform and consistent and the price is the highest compared to other types of bokar.
Storage, Bokar is stored in a special place in the form of a storage warehouse. Bokar should not be soaked causing low rubber quality.
